In addition to what others said, consider including
pitfalls to watch out for, and practical solutions.

I've seen lots of books on tech subjects that essentially
just cover the basics, without any real-world, practical,
industrial strength, implementations of the topics.

The orielly books are usually the exception to this rule.

Also, imo, taglibs are just a tool used when
building an application.  Hence, the other tools
(servlets, ejb, jsp, javabeans, class libs, javascript, dhtml) 
should be taken into account, somewhere, and put into context.

My beef is really with the servlet books that describe 
servlets totally standalone.  These are the books that
have servlets generating html directly from java code.
